London Fine Artist | Simeon Artamonov
Simeon Artamonov explores the intersection of memory, emotion, and the visual language of colour and form. Working across oil painting, works on paper, and digital media, he creates vibrant compositions that open contemplative spaces where the familiar shifts into the dreamlike. His practice is informed by modernist principles, particularly Cubism and its ability to fragment and reconstruct reality. Artamonov is drawn to the way separate elements can collide and recombine into new visual structures. Landscapes, both real and imagined, are transformed into rhythmic constructions rather than fixed places. Many of his compositions carry a strong sense of musicality, shaped by growing up in an environment surrounded by music and sound. Colour sits at the centre of his work. He uses bold, saturated palettes and structured geometric forms to evoke joy and tranquillity simultaneously. Solid shapes interact with intricate motifs, creating surfaces that feel almost tactile. Viewers often describe an impulse to reach out and touch the paintings, as if the colour itself possessed weight. His Reminiscence series explores imaginary landscapes populated by radiant suns, stylised trees, and atmospheric colour fields. Elsewhere, abstract forms, undulating shapes, and glowing orbs drift across the canvas, capturing fleeting moments and the bittersweet nature of memory.
