Anna Komitska Visual Artist and New Media Professional
Anna Komitska is a London-based visual artist, writer, and producer who explores the complex intersections of contemporary ideologies, digital culture, and political ecology. Her practice is deeply rooted in the examination of collective memory and speculative futures, often employing advanced technologies such as machine learning, real-time environments, and photogrammetric scans. Anna Komitska graduated from the London College of Communication (UAL) with a BA in Photography, and her work has evolved into a multidisciplinary approach that includes game worldbuilding, audiovisual animation, and installation art. Projects like "Time Capsules" and "Neatly Organised Things" demonstrate her focus on post-anthropocentric discourse, inquiring into human history, geomorphology, and the ethical systems of governance in hypothetical futures. Her artistic output frequently oscillates between fact and fiction, the natural and the artificial, repurposing images and objects to reveal hybrid states of being. Based in London, Anna Komitska has exhibited her work at venues such as the Copeland Gallery and the Little Bird Place gallery, contributing to exhibitions that challenge perceptions of reality and technological advancement. Through her research and writing, she investigates other-than-human behaviors at the nexus of art and anthropology, using software interventions and algorithmic archives to create immersive experiences that address value, ownership, and systems of production in the age of the Anthropocene.
