Veronyka Jelinek - illustration and animation artist and director
Veronyka Jelinek is an illustration & animation artist and director. Her images being bold yet thoughtful with a touch of poetry, mood and wit, are inspired by the nature, the universe, people and the life itself. Seeking meaning in beauty and imperfection at the same time — human and honest — be it in motion, or a still image, she comes from a point where the design and concept meets experimentation. Her work finds its place in various short animated formats, drawings and visual narratives (sometimes interactive). She’s collaborating with institutions, brands and editorial publications such as BBC, Dalmore, The New York Times, The Guardian or WIRED and a number of literature and science focused magazines. She also draws for children’s and other books. With a background in both feature film animation, commercial and independent projects — she likes to challenge the possibilities, go beyond the trends and create works with purpose that last. Her work has been recognised by The Society of Illustrators, World Illustration Awards and Bologna Children’s Book Fair among others.
