Yaerin Park: Contemporary Art Historian, Critic, and Curator

Yaerin Park is a contemporary art historian, critic, and curator based in Seoul, South Korea. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art Studies from Hongik University and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Art History and Museology at Ewha Womans University. Her academic research investigates the complex intersections of media, technology, gender, and identity politics within post-1945 art, with a specific focus on the shifting boundaries of language and representation in contemporary society. Yaerin Park seeks to critically address how art and visual culture negotiate the dynamics of power and mediation. In her curatorial practice, Yaerin Park has led significant projects such as “A Smooth World and Its Troubles” and “Burnt into Memories, Seeping into Your Eyes.” She is the founding editor of epoché rete, an art criticism collective that promotes dialogic inquiry. Additionally, her contributions extend to serving as the catalogue editor for the 15th Gwangju Biennale. Her achievements are recognized through various fellowships, including the ARKO Critic LAB from the Arts Council Korea and grants from the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture. Through her multifaceted practice, Yaerin Park continues to shape critical discourse and curatorial engagement in the global art landscape.
