Sophie Gisbertz: Contemporary Dance and Movement Artistry

Sophie Gisbertz is a versatile movement artist and choreographer specialized in contemporary dance and dance theatre. Born in 1996 in Erkelenz, Germany, Sophie Gisbertz developed her professional practice through extensive training at the IWANSON International School of Contemporary Dance in Munich from 2016 to 2019. Her expertise spans performance, acting, and production management, allowing her to take a holistic approach to artistic projects. Sophie Gisbertz has collaborated with renowned choreographers and participated in opera productions at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. Based in North Rhine-Westphalia and The Netherlands, she is an active contributor to the independent dance scene. In addition to her performance work, Sophie Gisbertz is a certified GYROKINESIS® teacher, incorporating specialized bodywork into her movement research. Her artistic journey, which began in carnival culture and evolved through physical theatre, focuses on diverse creative collaborations and the exploration of non-verbal communication.
