Sensorium Immersive and Interactive Arts Studio Lab
Sensorium is a Ghent-based studio.lab dedicated to the intersection of immersive technology and interactive arts. Founded by Ukrainian-born media artist Lawrence Kudria, the organization functions as both a creative studio and an internal R&D engine known as LAB. Sensorium focuses on expanding the language of perception through conceptually strong sensory experiences that utilize spatial sound, visuals, touch, movement, and biofeedback. The studio's work is rooted in the belief that interactive technology represents a new chapter of artistic expression, requiring the audience's physical and emotional presence to be complete. Sensorium specializes in immersive design and development, offering support for cross-disciplinary teams in building prototypes, sensory installations, and real-time environments using Unity and Unreal Engine. Key areas of expertise include embodied interaction, spatial presence, and emotional responsiveness. In addition to its creative output, Sensorium hosts workshops, hackathons, and lab weeks for universities and cultural programs, fostering a community of practitioners interested in sensory logic and audience perception. Their flagship project, To know you by hand, exemplifies their commitment to immersive participatory work. By blending interactive storytelling with experiential design, Sensorium invites participants into states of shared vulnerability and deep connection. The studio also provides one-on-one sessions for artists and curators to clarify the sensory logic and emotional journey of their own projects, reinforcing its role as a collaborative hub for the media arts community.
