The Rooster Gallery – Emerging Talents from the Baltic Region

Founded in 2008 by young cultural managers, The Rooster Gallery emerged as an independent initiative dedicated to expanding the visibility of contemporary painting from the Baltic region. From its early years of nomadic exhibitions and temporary artistic interventions, the gallery developed a flexible curatorial model that challenged conventional exhibition formats and encouraged dialogue between artwork and space. The gallery has activated diverse sites — from industrial lofts to historic interiors rarely accessible to the public — recontextualizing them as temporary exhibition environments for contemporary art. This site-responsive approach has allowed each project to unfold in a context carefully aligned with the artist’s practice, offering audiences new perspectives and interpretative frameworks. Over the years, The Rooster Gallery has built strong international partnerships with European galleries, curators and institutions, organizing solo and group exhibitions abroad and participating in significant art fairs across Europe and the Middle East. Artists represented by the gallery have received international critical recognition, awards and nominations in prestigious competitions, while also remaining active participants in major Lithuanian art events, biennials and institutional exhibitions. Works by gallery artists are included in prominent corporate and private collections. Through sustained and focused activity, The Rooster Gallery has established itself as a dynamic and respected presence within the Lithuanian art scene, functioning not only as a professional gallery but also as an informational and networking platform for the new generation of painters.
