RIBOT gallery: Contemporary Art Gallery for International Artists
RIBOT gallery was inaugurated in April 2015, founded by Monica Bottani, with the aim of enriching Milan’s art scene through exhibitions of international mid-career and emerging artists. The gallery’s program primarily features solo shows by international artists presenting their work in Italy for the first time, and embraces all contemporary media, including painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and new media. Every solo exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual (Italian/English) publication, with the intention of promoting the artist’s practice beyond the temporal limits of the exhibition itself. To date, the gallery’s editorial series comprises thirty-four titles. In addition, each solo show is further distinguished by a special project—frequently a limited edition work—conceived and created by the artist specifically for the occasion. This initiative aims to foster a strong relationship between artist and gallerist, blurring the boundaries between “content” and “container,” between artwork and exhibition space. Located on via Enrico Ne 23, the gallery occupies a two-floor space that is reinterpreted by the exhibiting artists on each occasion. It is a venue conceived as a site for exchange and engagement, welcoming both collectors and art amateurs.
