Rhys Dennis is an acclaimed contemporary dancer, choreographer, and movement director based in London. With a rich heritage of Jamaican and Barbadian descent, Rhys Dennis utilizes his background to inform a movement language that bridges contemporary dance, Hip-Hop, and African influences. He is widely recognized as a co-founder of FUBUNATION, an organization established in 2017 to increase the visibility and representation of people of color within the contemporary dance industry. The professional practice of Rhys Dennis spans live stage performance, film, and commercial movement direction. One of his most notable works, 'Ruins', received international acclaim, including the partner award at the Rotterdam International Duet Choreography competition. His ensemble work, such as 'Black Is..', has been showcased at prestigious venues like Sadler’s Wells. As a sought-after collaborator, Rhys Dennis has worked with high-profile artists and institutions, including Beyoncé for the film 'Black is King', FKA Twigs, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
