Radius Books: A Non-Profit Art Book Publisher for Contemporary Artists
Radius Books is a premier nonprofit publishing company based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, established in 2007 by David Chickey, Darius Himes, David Skolkin, and Joanna Hurley. The organization is founded on the belief that the arts are vital to a nation's culture and future, aiming to promote a continuous dialogue between artists, writers, and thinkers. Specializing in high-quality photography monographs and fine art books, Radius Books has produced over 200 titles featuring artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe, Helen Frankenthaler, and Felix Gonzalez-Torres. A core component of the organization's mission is its robust Donation Program. Recognizing the challenge of library budget cuts, the founders structured Radius Books as a 501(c)(3) to ensure that a portion of every print run is donated to underfunded public libraries, schools, and arts organizations. To date, the program has gifted more than 100,000 thoughtfully-crafted books to institutions across all 50 U.S. states. Through its publication, education, and community outreach efforts, Radius Books continues to expand the reach of contemporary art, ensuring that these beautiful objects are accessible to diverse and underserved audiences while supporting the creative visions of the Radius family of artists.
