Postcards from home International Art and Photography Community

Postcards from home is a vibrant international art community that has been actively reflecting and creating on the theme of home since its inception in October 2016. Based in Greece and operating globally, the initiative was developed to serve two primary purposes: as a dynamic online platform for global collaboration and as a nonformal education community specifically dedicated to photography. By bringing together artists and individuals from various backgrounds, Postcards from home fosters a collective exploration of what 'home' means in a contemporary context. The community has successfully organized 22 workshop activities across different settings in the world, providing a space for participants to engage in visual storytelling and creative expression. These workshops encourage people to look at their environments through a new lens, capturing the essence of belonging and memory in the form of postcards. In addition to its educational efforts, Postcards from home maintains a strong online presence, inviting anyone interested to become part of the platform and contribute their own creative work. The project emphasizes the power of photography to bridge cultural divides and create a shared visual language. Through its ongoing activities, social media presence, and collaborative projects, Postcards from home continues to expand its reach, creating a rich archive of postcards that document the diverse and deeply personal interpretations of home from around the globe. By focusing on nonformal education and open collaboration, the community provides an accessible entry point for people to participate in international art projects.
