Polymetis: Architectural Design and Public Art Studio

Polymetis is a multidisciplinary design and architecture studio based in Canada, specializing in the creation of memorials, monuments, and experimental public art installations. The studio is recognized for its ability to weave complex narratives into physical forms, as seen in their work on the Global Affairs Canada Memorial, titled Stand in Reflection, and the commemorative Cast From the Ground project. Their practice frequently explores the intersections of landscape, memory, and structural innovation, resulting in evocative spaces that engage with both their environment and the public. In recent years, Polymetis has established a strong presence in the contemporary design scene. Their project Fragments of a Disappearing Landscape was presented at the Collision Gallery during the 2025 DesignTO Festival, where it was honored with a Juror's Choice Award. Additionally, the studio showcased Block 01 as part of the Prototype Platform at the 2025 Interior Design Show. Their diverse portfolio includes a wide range of scales and typologies, from permanent monuments such as the Terry Fox Memorial and the Route 66 Monument to temporary installations like Ice Box, Hot Box, and Pink Punch. Other notable projects include the Arbutus Gateway Canopy, the Monument to Arctic Phenomena, and the Pergola Garden. Through their work on projects like Lucent Sky and Sounding Lines, Polymetis continues to push the boundaries of spatial design and public engagement.
