Pigeon Publishing: Independent Magazine for Art and Literature

Pigeon Publishing is an independent, bilingual magazine and creative platform that focuses on the intersection of contemporary art and literature. Founded in January 2024 and operating primarily online, the organization provides a digital space for over 100 international authors and artists to share work that is queer, feminist, and politically engaged. The magazine publishes a wide variety of content, including poetry, short prose, essays, reviews, and visual art, with new entries released twice weekly across four annual issues. Pigeon Publishing is specifically dedicated to exploring themes such as cultural trauma, life under neoliberal capitalism, and future perspectives beyond nostalgic aesthetics. Beyond its digital presence, the group organizes community events, readings, and workshops designed as queerfeminist safe spaces to foster solidarity within the independent creative scene. Based in Germany, it has collaborated with cultural institutions like the UNESCO City of Literature Heidelberg and continues to offer open calls for thematic special editions. By providing free access to art and supporting emerging voices, Pigeon Publishing acts as a critical cultural hub for experimental and socially conscious storytelling. The platform also offers resources such as writing workshops and community meetups, ensuring a supportive environment for both established and new voices in the arts.
