Perry Rath is a distinguished visual artist and educator based on the unceded traditional Territory of the Gidimt'en Clan of the Witsuwit'en Nation, located near Smithers in Northwestern British Columbia, Canada. With a professional career spanning three decades, Perry Rath has developed a robust and varied artistic practice that includes the creation of installations, objects, artifacts, paintings, and printmaking. His work has been showcased in a diverse array of regional, national, and international venues, and is held in various collections and publications worldwide. In addition to his studio work, Perry Rath is deeply involved in collaborations and art education. His contributions to the field of education have been highly regarded, earning him several prestigious honors, including the Rita L. Irwin National Art Teacher Award for Dissemination of Knowledge from the Canadian Society of Education Through Art. He has also received the BC Premier's Award for Excellence in Education for Social Equity and Diversity, the BC Reconcilation Award, as well as the BC Excellence in Art Education Award. Perry Rath also leads the Creativity Peaks Lab, which offers specialized creativity coaching and courses. His ongoing projects, such as the upcoming Tributaries solo exhibition at the Museum of Northern BC, continue to explore complex themes through visual media. Rath frequently shares updates on new releases and sales through his social channels, and maintains a shop for prints and original works.
