Padraic O'Meara is a professional cinematographer and filmmaker currently based in Portland, Oregon, with a global reach in narrative, documentary, and commercial production. Born in South Africa, Padraic O'Meara began his journey into visual arts influenced by his mother’s ceramic work and photography, which instilled a deep appreciation for line, composition, and light. He formalised his education at AFDA, the South African School of Motion Picture Medium, graduating in 2005 with a focus on directing, screenwriting, and eventually cinematography. His early career included significant work in animation and visual effects, as well as a period in the fashion industry, which helped refine his signature style: an emotionally attuned, collaborative, and visually precise approach. Since relocating to the United States in 2012, Padraic O'Meara has established a prolific practice. His filmography includes feature films such as Half Sisters and My Beautiful Confusion, alongside numerous short films and documentaries. In the commercial sector, he has collaborated with high-profile global clients including Nike, Airbnb, Intel, Leatherman, and The Nature Conservancy.
