Óscar Hernández: Graphic Design, Branding, and Creative Direction

Óscar Hernández is a distinguished graphic designer and creative professional based in Gran Canaria, with a practice that extends to Madrid and Lanzarote. His expertise covers a broad spectrum of visual communication, including branding, editorial design, motion graphics, and web design. A significant portion of Óscar Hernández’s work is deeply rooted in his Canarian heritage, as evidenced by his personal research project “canarias.logo” and his Final Degree Project, “Marcas con Fundamento.” These projects serve as a historiographic exploration of the most iconic brands in the Canary Islands' food sector, resulting in a detailed 320-page book documenting the archipelago's graphic history. As a core member of the Bruma creative production team, Óscar Hernández has expanded his skills into production, video, and photography. This multidisciplinary approach has allowed him to contribute to high-profile campaigns for global brands such as Adidas—where he designed specific props for the “Crafted for Goals” campaign featuring Pedri—as well as Scalpers, Pull&Bear, and El Corte Inglés. His portfolio features diverse projects, from limited edition packaging for Gofio Millo and local wines to identity work for artists like Cruz Cafuné. Whether designing embroidered caps for his personal brand or crafting wordmarks for luxury fragrances, Óscar Hernández maintains a focus on narrative and fundamento. His work is characterized by a blend of contemporary aesthetics and cultural documentation, making him a prominent figure in the modern Spanish design landscape.
