Nuria González Alcaide: Abstract Visual Artist and Painter

Nuria González Alcaide is a Barcelona-based abstract visual artist whose multidisciplinary practice primarily revolves around painting, with extensive research into paper, textiles, wood, and installation art. Her creative inquiry focuses on the exploration of color from theoretical, sensory, and visual perspectives, aiming to understand the underlying structures that shape society. Nuria González Alcaide investigates how history, culture, and the environment influence human perception, thought, and communication. Her process is deeply rooted in classification—whether of images, objects, or routines—and reflects a profound interest in language and the materiality of the body in relation to the self. Throughout her career, Nuria González Alcaide has achieved significant international recognition. She presented a solo public exhibition at Kunstwerk Kolderveen in the Netherlands and has participated in prestigious group shows such as Be Alpha in Milan, Culterim in Berlin, and Fondazione Amedeo Modigliani in Venice. Her work is held in private collections in the UK managed by Artiq and has been featured in the Amazon Fire Screensaver TV project. Furthermore, she has completed residencies at institutions including Duplex AIR in Portugal and GlogauAir in Germany, continually expanding her artistic language through global collaboration and research.
