Margherita Ratti: Independent Curator & Contemporary Art Professional
Margherita Ratti is a distinguished independent curator and contemporary art professional known for her multidisciplinary expertise that spans architecture, design, and visual arts. Currently based in Paris, Margherita Ratti has cultivated a career characterized by an innovative approach to cultural production and research. Her academic foundation includes a degree in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano and a master’s degree in Contemporary Art from the Sorbonne in Paris, allowing her to bridge the gap between structural design and artistic theory. Throughout her career, Margherita Ratti has been a pivotal figure in promoting emerging talent. Between 2012 and 2024, she founded and led It’s Great Design, a laboratory for thinking and making design that showcased unreleased research from young international creators. Her curatorial vision was further demonstrated through the co-foundation of the Lake Como Design Fair in 2018, an event that uniquely integrated design, architecture, and graphic works within historical settings. Margherita Ratti’s work often explores the interference between artwork and commercial or domestic spaces, as seen in her co-founding of the MoMO Galerie and various group shows like Intérieur Contemporain. Her practice is defined by a commitment to freedom of expression and the transcendence of traditional disciplinary boundaries. Since 2024, she has collaborated with the Parisian studio Undo-Redo and continues to foster contemporary art through the Association IN CONTEMPORANEA and the Garage Fontana exhibition space in Sicily.
