Mandy Zhang Art: Contemporary Asian Art Gallery and Curatorial Practice

Mandy Zhang Art is a contemporary art gallery based in London, founded by Gallery Director Mandy Jieyi Zhang in 2022. The gallery is specifically dedicated to supporting and platforming the voices of emerging Asian artists and the Asian diaspora. Originally starting as an experimental exhibition space in the founder's apartment, Mandy Zhang Art transitioned to a permanent, street-front public location at 16 Seymour Place in the Marylebone neighborhood in April 2024. The gallery's curatorial program delves into critical themes such as ethnicity, cultural decolonization, and the concept of care, seeking to interrogate and challenge conventional narratives within the contemporary art community. Mandy Zhang Art hosts a variety of solo and group exhibitions, including notable shows like 'Bruises' by Can Sun and 'Ripped' by Dana Nechmad, as well as performances and panel discussions designed to foster dialogue. By participating in international art fairs across New York, Paris, Singapore, and Shanghai, the gallery actively bridges the cultural gap between East and West. It provides a vital platform for artists like Jin Han, Li Yin, and Kaja Stumpf to launch their careers and for audiences to engage with diverse, globally-oriented artistic perspectives that push the boundaries of multidisciplinary visual art.
