Lenore Rae Lampi: Sculptural and Functional Ceramic Art

Lenore Rae Lampi is a distinguished ceramic artist based in Duluth, Minnesota, recognized for her evocative sculptural and functional clay works. Drawing deep inspiration from the natural environment, specifically the textures and forms of birch bark, Lampi has developed a unique visual language characterized by her Tree Skin series. Her practice involves a sophisticated blend of wheel-thrown and hand-built porcelain techniques, often integrating incised and altered surfaces that mimic organic growth. Lampi holds a BA in Fine Art from the University of Minnesota Duluth and an MA in Art Education from the University of Minnesota.
