Harry Moore: Fine Art Pinhole Photography and Sound Art
Harry Moore is an established multi-disciplinary artist based in Ireland whose extensive creative practice encompasses photography, sound composition, music performance, theatre, and woodwork. His work is characterized by a deep exploration of time and atmospheric nuance. In his photography practice, Harry Moore predominantly utilizes self-made pinhole cameras and 120mm film. By focusing on long exposures and time-lapse imagery, he creates photographs that serve as mini-residencies, capturing the essence and nuance of a location beyond mere factual representation. His sound practice is equally immersive, involving the organization and arrangement of field recordings and found sounds. Harry Moore also designs and constructs his own instruments from everyday objects and parts, which he incorporates into live performances and studio recordings. These compositions often result from collaborations with other sound artists, blending improvised and semi-arranged structural elements. Beyond his personal artistic output, Harry Moore has been a voluntary director of various public initiatives to support vibrant artistic activity in his community. His current projects include the STUDIO series of pinhole portraits and ongoing workshops, reflecting his commitment to both artistic innovation and educational engagement in the visual and sonic arts.
