Giulia Nespoli: Multidisciplinary Designer and Visual Artist
Giulia Nespoli is an Italian multidisciplinary designer and visual artist whose creative practice is defined by the fusion of computational methods, deep narrative exploration, and synesthetic aesthetic expression. Based between Seoul, South Korea, and Milan, Italy, Nespoli develops projects that bridge the physical and virtual worlds, ranging from innovative industrial products and robotics to immersive art installations and generative audiovisual performances. With an educational background in Industrial Product Design from Politecnico di Milano and a Master’s in Product and Space Design from Seoul National University, Giulia Nespoli brings a scientific rigor to her artistic output. Her work often involves complex research into parametric construction, interactive interfaces like Konsol-V, and audio-reactive visuals. As a synesthetic artist, she possesses a heightened sensitivity to colors, textures, and patterns, which she leverages to craft harmonious and multi-dimensional environments. Her professional portfolio includes high-profile collaborations and exhibitions, notably as a guest artist and designer for the Gwangju Design Biennale in 2021 and 2023. As a visual artist and VJ, she has performed at diverse international venues and events, including Live Elettronica, Permit, and various Seoul-based platforms. Her personal research projects, such as Lenticol.Arte and Actinomorphic Structures, showcase her commitment to a learning-by-doing approach and her ability to integrate digital fabrication with traditional design principles. Through her work, Giulia Nespoli continues to push the boundaries of how technology and sensory perception can enhance human experience.
