Gaston Bailo: Contemporary Documentary Art Photographer and Audiovisual Creator

Gastn Bailo is a photographer, audiovisual creator, and educator born in Argentina and currently based in Mexico. With a professional background in social communication from the National University of Crdoba, Gastn Bailo has developed an artistic practice that connects documentary tradition with contemporary visual aesthetics. His work is deeply rooted in themes of identity, displacement, nature, and culture, using photography and moving images to construct subjective narratives. Gastn is the founder and director of Random Galera and the educational platform “Contar con la Mirada,” where he teaches visual storytelling. His work has been recognized worldwide, including a Creation Grant from Argentina's National Arts Fund, an award for photographic excellence at the Jinan Biennial in China, and selection by PhotoVogue in Panorama Latinoamericano 2024. Gastn Bailo considers images to be vital spaces for freedom and collective vision, constantly participating in international exhibitions in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. His projects, such as RIZOMA and LUGAR AL OTRO LADO, reflect a commitment to sensitive representations of social spaces and their actors.
