Gabriele Provenzano, contemporary visual artist.

Gabriele Provenzano (b. 1998) is a visual artist currently working in Italy. He studied graphic art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and sculpture and performing arts in Turin. He furthered his studies in these disciplines with a period of study at the Akademii Sztuk Piknych w odzi in Poland. Over the years, he has developed a multidisciplinary practice that includes sculpture, performance, and photography. As an artist, he aims to translate his experiences into visual and poetic narratives that serve to explore what he loves and what he hates. He absorbs, processes, and creates the form he believes is most suitable to inevitably represent the personal, the social, and the ambiguous. His most recent work often includes metaphors based on contemporary interspeciesism and archaeozoology: he creates parallelswith the human world, questioning the relational mechanisms that implement a process of flattening, standardization, and constraint of the individual and his dystopian relationship with other living beings and nature. He currently has exhibitions in Poland, Germany, and Turkey. Some of his exhibitions include: <3 >:( :3 curated by Caroline Ellen Liou, bipersonal, @ Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, w/ Fondazione Merz, Comitato Fondazione Arte Contemporanea, 2024.
