Etienne Francey: The moving colors of nature

Etienne Francey is a professional photographer based in Fribourg, Switzerland, renowned for his ability to transform reality through the lens. Born in 1997, Francey developed an early fascination with cinema and technical imaging, which eventually evolved into a sophisticated artistic practice. He graduated from the Ecole de Photographie de Vevey in 2019 and has since established himself as a prominent figure in both the fine art and commercial photography sectors. His portfolio is characterized by a unique approach to movement and color, often using nature as a canvas for experimental compositions that challenge traditional perceptions. Francey’s artistic merit is underscored by numerous international honors, including four-time recognition in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition and winning the Hermann Elsner Prize in 2017. His professional scope extends to high-end commercial mandates, having collaborated with prestigious brands under the LVMH umbrella, such as Hennessy, TAG Heuer, and Château d’Yquem. Represented by the Margot de Roquefeuil agency in Paris, his work has been featured in major publications like The Guardian, Fisheye, and L’Illustré. Through solo exhibitions at venues like the Espace Jean Tinguely – Niki de Saint-Phalle, Francey continues to explore the boundaries between photography and painting, focusing on the emotional resonance of distorted natural forms and plastic colorations.
