Ellie Niblock: Multi-disciplinary Artist Blending Sculpture and Technology

Ellie Niblock is a multi-disciplinary artist based between London and Belfast who works at the intersection of sculpture and digital technology. Her practice explores the fluid relationship between the physical and digital worlds, investigating how they co-exist and reshape our perceptions of self, memory, and reality. By blending tactile materials such as silicone, foam, and resin with innovative tools like 3D scanning, Augmented Reality (AR), and Virtual Reality (VR), Ellie Niblock creates vibrant, organic forms that challenge the boundary between the tangible and the intangible. Her work often utilizes a bold, saccharine color palette to investigate complex themes including identity, migration, and environmental issues. A graduate of Central Saint Martins with an MA in Fine Art and Ulster University with a BA in Textile Art, Design and Fashion, she has gained significant recognition in the contemporary art scene. Ellie Niblock was a featured artist on the Sky Arts program Landmark and has completed high-profile residencies at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Her sculptural work is held in the permanent collection of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Her diverse portfolio ranges from intricate mixed media pieces to large-scale public art installations and digital experiences hosted on platforms like itch.io. Through her unique multidisciplinary approach, she visualizes the invisible, turning ephemeral memories and emotions into tactile and virtual realities. Her exhibitions at venues such as the Saatchi Gallery, Tate Modern, and the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art reflect her standing as a leading voice in new media and sculptural practice.
