Dila Yumurtacı: Interdisciplinary Artist and Performance Researcher

Dila Yumurtacı is an interdisciplinary artist, researcher, and facilitator currently based in Porto, Portugal, where she is pursuing a PhD in Arts. Her practice is deeply rooted in participatory works that explore the intersections of dance, ecology, and consciousness. Dila Yumurtacı aims to foster community by bringing people together to collaborate and experience the transformative power of movement-based practices. At the core of her artistic inquiry lies an exploration of alternative modes of being together in a more-than-human world. Through her performances, workshops, and retreats, she shares somatic knowledge to nurture interdependent connections and reimagine new futures. Her research delves into the ephemeral nature of performance and the body, often drawing links between food and the cycle of creation and eradication. Dila Yumurtacı also investigates historical movement theories, such as those found in Bauhaus Dance Theatre and Renaissance choreography. Her work invites participants to engage in embodied awareness and cultivate shared vulnerability, creating a space for collective resilience and artistic innovation. By focusing on how embodied practices impact consciousness, she continues to catalyze collective experiences that bridge the gap between art and life.
