Dein Körper ist genug: Authentic Nude Photography and Body Positivity

Dein Körper ist genug is a transformative body positivity movement and photography project founded and led by Berlin-based photographer and activist Caro Gugu. Since its inception in 2019, the initiative has grown into a powerful platform for self-acceptance, visibility, and storytelling. At its core, the project focuses on authentic nude photography that remains entirely unretouched and unfiltered, directly challenging the artificial beauty standards pervasive in modern media and society. The project has collaborated with over 300 participants who have shared both their physical forms and their intimate body stories. These narratives explore experiences of exclusion, body shaming, and discrimination, but also healing and self-love. Dein Körper ist genug creates safe spaces where people of all shapes, sizes, ages, and backgrounds—including strong representation from the LGBTQIA+ community—can be seen and heard. Through large-scale exhibitions and festivals like 48h BODYLOVE, the movement brings these images into the public eye to change visual habits and foster empathy. Beyond photography, the project encompasses workshops, talks, and a podcast entitled Body ohne Filter, further extending its mission of empowerment. Currently operating as a voluntary initiative in its founding phase, Dein Körper ist genug continues to expand across Germany, collaborating with various photographers to amplify the message that every body is, indeed, enough. By focusing on vulnerability and togetherness, the project serves as a counter-movement to perfectionism, promoting a healthier and more inclusive societal discourse on human diversity and mental health.
