Daniela Tumedei | Contemporary Landscape Art and Photography

Daniela Tumedei is a contemporary visual artist born in 1998 in Bogotà, currently living and working between Cesena and Milano, Italy. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in the exploration of the contemporary landscape and the subjective ways in which it is perceived. Daniela Tumedei utilizes photographic notes of urban environments, historical cities, and abandoned places as her primary reference material. Her creative process involves the technical deconstruction of these images within a darkroom, where she meticulously crafts collages of shapes that merge and overlap. This methodology allows Daniela Tumedei to construct infinite combinations of landscapes that are simultaneously unreal, fictitious, and chaotic. These visual representations serve as a powerful metaphor for the confusion and fragmentation of contemporary society. Her academic background includes studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence and the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan, specializing in painting. Daniela Tumedei has participated in numerous exhibitions, including the solo show Noema, percezioni soggettive in Milan and collective projects like Space and Future Landscapes. Beyond her studio practice, she has been involved in curatorial projects and artistic residences, such as Drawing Storage and Equidistanze, further solidifying her presence in the Italian art scene through a unique blend of photography, painting, and collage.
