Bree Chapin's creative work

Bree Chapin: Contemporary Figurative Painter and Visual Artist

Bree Chapin is a multifaceted contemporary visual artist, figurative painter, and muralist with a career spanning over a decade. Her creative practice is primarily based between the vibrant artistic hubs of New York City and Lisbon, Portugal. Bree Chapin is recognized for her thought-provoking artworks that delve into complex themes such as power dynamics, social imbalance, and the pervasive nature of surveillance. Her output is deeply influenced by a sense of disorientation and the inherent absurdity of the modern world, making much of her work explicitly or implicitly political. Bree Chapin began her professional artistic journey in 2013 as part of the ConArtist Collective on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Since then, she has established a significant presence in the urban art scene, co-founding the New York Underground Art League in 2021. This initiative, created in collaboration with UPMagazine, fosters a monthly live urban art event in New York. Beyond her studio work involving acrylic on canvas and art paper, she is an accomplished muralist with large-scale installations in public spaces worldwide. Her exhibition history includes numerous solo and group showcases, and her original paintings are held in various private collections. In addition to her creative output, Bree Chapin is an active curator and producer of art events, bringing a collaborative spirit to the contemporary art community.
