Bolgeri & Marín: Performance and Transmedia Art Collective
Bolgeri & Marín is a transmedia artistic collective composed of Carla Bolgeri and Francisco Marín. Based in Santiago, Chile, the duo investigates and produces work at the intersection of performance, music, and visual arts. Their practice is deeply rooted in exploring the materiality of sound, body, and light, often creating immersive environments that challenge sensory perception. Notable works like Paisaje petróleo investigate plastic as an expressive medium, while projects like En el borde la orilla use intermedial installations to explore morphology and physical movement. Carla Bolgeri, a choreographer and vocalist, and Francisco Marín, a musician and visual artist, have presented their performances and research in galleries and festivals across Chile, Italy, and Austria. Their collaborative approach emphasizes the dialogue between conceptual research and physical execution, frequently resulting in site-specific experiences that engage with the ephemeral nature of the human body and technological mediation. In addition to their performance work, they contribute to the experimental music scene through their project GRAMMA, which focuses on alternative electronics and pop. Their work continues to be supported by cultural institutions such as Centro NAVE and various international artistic residencies.
