Atlas Aesthetics: Reclaiming North African Visual Culture

Atlas Aesthetics is an independent print magazine and digital platform established in 2025 to focus on the reclamation and reimagination of North African visual culture. Founded and led by editor and art director Assia Sabi, the organization provides a collaborative space for artists, writers, and image-makers whose perspectives span diverse geographies and generations. The platform is rooted in both North Africa and its global diasporas, seeking to establish a visual language shaped from within the community rather than from external or reductive perspectives. The organization’s flagship publication, Issue 01: Reclamation, features a curated selection of essays, interviews, photography, poetry, and film. These works are specifically chosen to highlight narratives that resist cultural erasure and expand the representation of North African identity in the global art scene. Based in London, Atlas Aesthetics maintains a significant presence in Paris and London through select stockists such as Palais de Tokyo, Ofr. Bookshop, Cahier Central, and The Photographers' Gallery.
