Alketa Delishaj: Contemporary Artist, Designer and Photographer

Alketa Delishaj is an Italo-Albanian contemporary artist based in Verona whose practice is rooted in painting and expands across design and photography. Her work is recognized for its essential visual language, where memory, movement and female identity are translated into suspended and timeless compositions. Working from archival imagery and historical references, she reduces the figure to its purest form through fields of color, light and space. This process of subtraction transforms gesture into contemplation and builds a minimal aesthetic that defines her artistic signature. She is best known for The Divers, a body of work inspired by the first women who competed at the 1920 Olympic Games. In these compositions, bodies poised between air and water become symbols of emancipation, inner balance and strength, establishing a dialogue between past and present and redefining the representation of the female figure. Alongside her painterly practice, Alketa Delishaj develops a research in art and design through the creation of hand-painted garments and unique objects conceived as extensions of the artwork. These pieces transform the act of wearing into a visual and spatial experience, where the relationship between image, body and matter becomes central. Photography is an integral part of her process and contributes to the construction of a coherent and recognizable visual identity. Her works have been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and internationally and are held in private collections.
