Adriana Díaz H: Ethical Contemporary Jewellery and Artistic Design

Adriana Diaz H is a contemporary jeweler and designer based in Barcelona, Spain. Originally from Colombia, her professional background combines industrial design studies in Bogota with specialized training in artistic jewelry in Barcelona. This dual foundation informs her unique creative language, which seamlessly blends the functional with the poetic. Adriana is deeply committed to sustainability and ethical practices within the jewelry industry. Since 2018, she has used Fairmined-certified gold and silver, ensuring that her materials are sourced from responsible artisanal and small-scale mining communities in Colombia and Peru. Her work also incorporates traceable and responsibly sourced gemstones, following a transparent mine-to-market model. Her design process is characterized by a constant experimentation with materials. Collections, such as Interlaced, Laurel, and Skin Project, feature clean, subtle, and timeless shapes often inspired by geometry, repetition, and the textures of the natural world. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted in her Barcelona workshop, often employing artisanal techniques like lost wax casting or weaving with fine precious metal threads. Adriana Diaz Higuera views jewelry as more than just an accessory; for her, it is a medium that connects emotions and communicates the identity of the wearer. Her dedication to responsible craftsmanship has made her an active representative of the ethical jewelry movement.
